Some Kind Of Wonderful!

So Stacey and I started a new project today. It is a quilt called "My Favorite Things" in a beautiful book called "Some Kind of Wonderful!".  The quilt has a lovely folk art feel... full of needle turn applique.  This technique is fairly new to us.  We were deciding whether we wanted to complete the entire quilt in needle turn or blanket stitch.  After experimenting with the "family" (heart) block, we were hooked on the needle turn look.  So.... we have quite the project ahead of us!  Here's a look at what we completed today...

As you can see, they are wonderfully unique to our personalities.  We are very pleased with the results.  This is the first of many to come.....

Oh, I am sooo excited I can hardly stand it!  There is a new Ghastlies print this year called The Ghastlies Family Reunion, by Alexander Henry. For those of you familiar with this line, you may notice that there are a few changes from the norm of the Ghastlies.  {The little girl isn't wielding a hammer, for one.} Are they possibly hiding their true colors for the sake of impressing the extended family?!  Haha.... I love it!

More Quilts by Stacey!

Stacey made this quilt from a jelly roll I had held on to for years called Pack Your Bags.  She whipped this baby together a few days before Christmas for her daughter, Tasia.  Ooo... been there, done that...

These are a pair of adorable How The Grinch Stole Christmas quilts Stacey made for her two youngest boys.  I love the use of scraps in between the panels... it really adds character to the quilts.  I quilted a whimsical bullseye pattern on them that echoes the craziness of Dr. Seuss' creation. We can hardly wait to get our hands on the new Lorax line by Dr. Seuss!
